Description: Cones both male and female are on separatetrees. Male are yellowish-brown. Female are blue or brownish-purple. Female cones ripen from September                       through October. There are about one to three seeds per                                                        cone. Each cone is about ¼ of an inch in diameter.

 Twig:               Brown, slender, blue to a bluish-white.    
 Bark:
                Reddish- brown with long shreddy strips.

 Form:              Triangular

 Uses:               Food and shelter for birds and animals.

 Origin:            The Red Cedar is an ancient tree. It is dated back to aboriginal America,                               covered large apportions of the continent.
