I was born in Alexandria, Virginia, but grew up in Normal with an older brother and younger sister. I graduated from Normal Community High School in 1984 and Illinois State University in 1988; where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading Education.

After graduating from ISU, I moved to Hawaii with my husband Randy, a 1979 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. While in Hawaii, I worked for the U.S. Army's Child Development Services.  In 1991, we moved to Lawton, Oklahoma for a brief time and then to Langgöns, Germany.  In Germany, I was the Child Development Center Director for the U.S. Army's Child Development Services in Giessen.

We returned to the U.S. in 1994 and to Lawton, Oklahoma.  In 1999, we moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas, where I taught first grade at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School.  In 2000, we returned to the Bloomington/Normal area and I taught kindergarten at Holy Trinity Elementary School.  I joined the staff at Tri-Valley Elementary School in 2001 and taught first and second grade inclusion classes. In December 2004, I completed my Master’s Degree in School Administration. I was named principal of St. Mary’s Catholic School in June 2005.

I currently live with my family in Normal. Randy and I have three children, Robin is in junior high, Rachel in high school and Zack is in college. We also have a new addition to our family, a cute and energetic black lab named Charlie.

I enjoy flower and vegetable gardening, reading, puzzles and games, movies and spending time with my family.
