Leaf:     Type:simple
            1.vein lanceolate
            2.apex acute
            3.margin serrate
            4.base rounded
            Venation pinnate
           

Flower description: pink bud with flower

Fruit description: persistent, red, ½ inch

Twig: red brown with little bumps per host flower (spurs)

Bark: gray and smooth


Cucumber magnolia Leaf Form:ovoid (15-25ft. spread 20-25.)

Uses: habitat, decoration, bird food 

Origin: hybridized in France

Distribution(location): Ohio to Florida, Arkansas, Iowa ; zones 5 to 9
