Large, green-brownish color, smooth, rounded, hard shell, edible, 1 ½ to 2 inches in diameter   

Twig: Ashy-gray buds, chambered pith, brown, and stout

Bark: Dark to light brown, narrow, vertical ridges, single

Black Walnut Form: Open crown, large tree, straight trunk, 50-75 ft. high

Discussion:

Uses: Furniture, cabinetry, gun-stocks, interior detailing, hand tools, highest grade veneer,  ply wood paneling, and nuts for food
