Pyramidal cone, small brown nuts

Twig: Light brown or gray; needle continuous to the apex, bright green in spring


Austrian Pine Picture Bark: Dark gray, thick, furrowed into irregular scaly plates

Form: Pyramid (50-60 ft. high; 20-40 ft. wide)

Discussion:

Uses: Habitat and windbreaks; can stand dryness and exposure

Origin: Central and Southeastern Europe and Asia Minor; also in Northwestern Africa.

Distribution: Throughout the United States; Zones:4 to 7
