            Scientific: Fagus grandifolia

Leaf:            Type: Simple
            Form: Lanceolate
            Apex: Truncate
            Margin: Toothed or serrate    
            Base: Oblique or one-sided

        Venation: Palmate
        Form:( 50-70 feet high equals the spread.)

Flower: Insignificant.



Beech Bark Fruit: Hard spiky cover, three brown nuts inside.

Twig: Long, slender, and red  long buds on the end of the stem.

Bark: Gray and smooth.

Form: Upright, widespread and crown.

Origin ( location ): Asia.

  Distribution:  New Brunswick to Ontario South to Florida and Texas.
